![]() Upon reaching the foyer, we were immediately greeted by a very ecstatic warm employee(I did not catch her name). Spectacular views from the second we turned into the vineyard. Had an amazing experience today! My wife and I drove 2 1/2 hours to visit Childress for the 1st time. Keep an eye on their social media for upcoming events! Their cabins and banquet/ reception hall are stunning! The view of the pond! Perfect for weddings, girls weekends, or corporate training events. They shared they had Rose options that would be released soon. Wonderful mixture of whites, reds, dry and sweet options. They were all amazing, full of flavor and smooth. We did the 5 tasting option, and honestly could have bought all the wines I tasted. Pricing is reasonable for the tastings and the bottles. ![]() They were both a pleasure to speak with, they shared details about the wines they offered and details about wine origins and grape specifics we had never heard before. This gave us the opportunity to not only have the full attention of Laura (who was an owner and serving us in the tasting room) for our tasting but also allowed us to learn how Laura and her husband Dave became owners and the story behind the dream that led them there. At 11am when they opened we had the place to ourselves. I can not say enough wonderful things about our experience. Today we ventured over to Autumn Creek during our weekend of camping at Hanging Rock State Park. We are already looking forward to our trip back and hopefully dining at the restaurant soon! You are guaranteed an exceptional experience. I would 10/10 recommended anyone to visit this gorgeous winery regardless of how far the drive is. ![]() While warming up by the fire we got a chance to meet the rest of the lovely Morrisette family and they even offered us a cheese plate and s’mores while giving us recommendations of hikes in the area! It was truly the best experience and we were overwhelmed with gratitude for the kindness and hospitality they showed us. We particularly loved the Petit Verdot which we got a bottle of. I was given free tastings until I found the perfect wine. Ryan taught us about the wines we tasted and the history of the winery. We were able to taste several wines, made rounds meeting people and dogs with our own pups, and settled by the fire with a glass of wine. The Morrisette family were all there and made sure we had the best experience. We showed up just in time for sunset and were amazed by how beautiful the property was. Chateau Morrisette Winery was the highlight of our Blue Ridge road trip! My husband, 2 pups, and I chose to stop here after seeing they were close to Blue Ridge and are dog friendly.
